Healthy Weightloss New Year's Resolution

Do you know what the #1 weight loss resolution is each year? That's right - Losing Weight. And I'm guessing there's a pretty good chance that it's on your resolution list this year. I know it is at the top of mine.

The problem and the reason most people give up after a few weeks is that they try some sort of diet that tells them what they can't eat, so they feel deprived. Have you experienced this? You either end up being hungry or craving forbidden foods, but either way, you feel like you're being punished. It's not a long-term solution. It's just something you "get through". Sooner or later you give into those cravings or hunger and that's the end of the diet ... rinse and repeat next year.

Or... you could try a new approach this year. It's what I call a healthy and balanced approach to weightloss. You don't go on a diet, instead you make small changes toward eating healthier foods that you can stick with for the rest of your live.

Of course you can still have some of your favorite treats, but in moderation and of course not every day. But every once in a while, yes... you can have your cake and eat it too.

If you get in the habit of eating healthy foods, lean proteins like chicken breast for example combined with plenty of fresh vegetables and some whole grains to keep you full, you can't help but lose weight and you will stay healthier as well.

So this year, change your resolution from just losing weight, to Healthy Weight Loss and don't forget to include a little bit of exercise (like going for a walk around the neighborhood or taking a dance class) each day as well.
